Project type

Open-Modern Kitchen Design

Location

Wayne, NJ

An open-plan kitchen concept for Wayne, New Jersey, bringing together the natural warmth of light oak and the quiet elegance of off-white matte lacquered cabinetry. Clean-lined cabinet fronts and continuous oak detailing create a calm architectural framework, while black recessed pulls, dark glass display cabinets, and a matte black faucet add definition to the soft palette.

Veined stone surfaces introduce movement across the countertops, full-height backsplash, and waterfall island. The island combines a light oak base with upholstered seating, creating an inviting place for casual meals and conversation. Glass pendants, recessed ceiling lights, illuminated display cabinets, and under-cabinet lighting give the room depth and highlight the materials.

The design studies explore the kitchen from several perspectives, including its connection to the dining and living areas. A sculpted cabinet end with a curved corner and dark glass display storage provides a distinctive transition between spaces. Pale wood flooring, cream upholstery, and warm wood furnishings carry the kitchen palette throughout the open interior, balancing practical storage with a cohesive, welcoming atmosphere.
